It all started after a month of vacation in the US in late 2015. We saw how the people were enjoying all these "privileges". As simple as a clean bathroom with tissue felt like a luxury compared to what we were experiencing at home.
We saw how people in wheelchairs can ride a bus unaccompanied; how vehicles yield to pedestrians; how our senior relatives can still enjoy life with just their pension. The list can continue... these are actually not privileges but a right of any tax-paying person. Something that the government should give to the people...
So I started googling. And we started discussing. What if we consider moving? I have never considered it and who think that other countries are meant to be just vacation places.
But then we got busy with work when we got back. And logic came into play. We are comfortable here. We have a house, we have a car. We can shop whenever we want. And the idea faded.
And then we received a gift. Little E happened. And what a blessing she is. And all I can think about is to provide what we can for her.
So here I went to friendly google again. New Zealand or Canada or Australia? Checking posts of friends in those areas. Are they doing well?
Then a friend went to Canada for a vacation. She did not post much but she told me about how her mom suffered a mild stroke in a mall, and how the paramedics quickly responded. And it reminded us again and questioned how our life would be when we get old, what the future holds for little E?

The beginning of the maple dream.
